USAID Projects
The Institute’s past projects involve working with many national legislative bodies, several national chief executives and numerous government ministers. Particularly notable in this regard has been the work of the Institute in Paraguay and Chile where, through a USAID funded project, Institute personnel worked with national, departmental and local governments and grassroots communities in bringing about major governance reforms at all levels of Paraguayan society.
In addition to its extensive technical assistance and consulting activities, the Institute has carried out a wide variety of research and training activities, both within and outside of the United States. In its work in Paraguay, as well as in Argentina, Chile and Peru, Institute staff has worked very closely with the leadership of the government of Miami-Dade County in carrying out a wide variety of local government technical assistance and democratic development activities.
